Chapter 4.1, Problem 1R
Summary Introduction

To review:

The differences between purines and pyrimidines are based on these differences, their relationship with the structure of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA).

Introduction:

All the biomolecules are made up of simple monomeric units. The nucleic acids, such as DNA and ribonucleic acid (RNA) are also made up of simple units called as nucleotides. The nucleotides, in turn, are composed of nucleosides. The nucleoside consists of a nitrogenous base and a pentose sugar. The nitrogenous bases can be either purine or pyrimidine. The purine always base pairs with a pyrimidine in case of DNA; however, no such pairing is observed in RNA.
