Compare and contrast the mechanisms by which glucagon and aldosterone cause their specific responses.

Summary Introduction

To review:

The comparison and contrast between the mechanism of glucagon and aldosterone by which they cause their specific responses.

Glucagon and Aldosterone are the hormones that help in regulating the metabolism of our body. Hormones are chemical messengers that are synthesized in the endocrine glands of a multicellular organism and transported by the circulatory system to different target organs of the body.

The comparison between the mechanisms of glucogon and aldosterone that show their responses is:

Glucagon Aldosterone
Glucagon is the main catabolic peptide hormone of the body. It is secreted by the alpha cells of the pancreas and regulates glucose level in the blood. Aldosterone is secreted by the adrenal glands and maintains the blood pressure
Glucagon is a hydrophilic hormone, it produces response through a signal transduction pathway. This hormone binds to the g-protein-coupled receptor present in the plasma membrane of the cell. Aldosterone is a hydrophobic hormone, it binds to the internal receptor present in the nucleus or the cytoplasm of the cell.
When the glucose level falls below, the glucagon raises the glucose level by binding to the receptor present on the liver cells...
