Chapter 45, Problem 5TYU
Summary Introduction
Introduction: Cancer is caused due to abnormal cell cycle control system. It undergoes several genetic and epigenetic alterations that cause uncontrolled proliferation of cells. The cell undergoes an oncogenic transformation in several hits. Cancer cell makes own growth factors. Therefore, they do not depend on the supply of external growth factors. Cancer cells express specific cell surface antigen that helps in evading the immune destruction.
