Chapter 4.6, Problem 1TAI
Summary Introduction

To explain: What are the three risk factors of pre-diabetes for Person J.

Introduction: Pre-diabetes is a condition in which the blood glucose level is higher than ideal concentration, but is lower than diabetes. Type 2 Diabetes is the most prevalent form of diabetes, in which people become resistant to insulin. Thereby, their blood glucose level is high. The high blood glucose level may damage the neurons, eye, and lead to tooth loss, gum problems, kidney, and heart disease. Usually, the type 2 diabetes patient needs to take insulin directly in their blood to lower the blood glucose level. Foods that are low in carbohydrates and rich in vegetable as well as regular exercise can be a good approach to reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes.
