Interpretation:
The reactions that will occur are to be predicted and for the possible reactions, balanced molecular equations for those reaction are to be written. The element that is oxidized and that is reduced are to be indicated.
Concept introduction:
The activity series is used to predict whether a particular metal will be oxidized by: a solution containing a specific salt, or an acid.
In activity series, the metals are arranged from top to bottom in a decreasing order of ability to oxidize.
The metals at the top of the series are active metals, and are very reactive.
The metals at the bottom of the series are comparatively less reactive.
