Concept Introduction:

The time independent energy balance for the closed system is given by:

ΔU=Q+WEC

Here, heat is Q, change in internal energy is ΔU, and work expansion or contraction is WEC.

Substituting ΔU=N×ΔU_vap in the above, we get.

N×ΔU_vap=Q+WEC

Here, number of mole is N and molar change in internal energy of vaporization is ΔU_vap.

The work done equation for constant pressure process is given by:

WEC=PdV=P(VfinalVinitial)

Here, pressure is P and change in volume is dV.

Use the ideal equation in place of the final volume to find the work done.

WEC=P(RTPVinitial)

Calculate the value of ΔU_vap.

ΔU_vap=Q+WECN

Calculate the molar change in enthalpy using the formula:

ΔU=Q+(PΔV_vap)ΔU+PΔV_vap=QΔHvap=Q

Calculate the molar change in entropy of vaporization using the given formula.

ΔS_vap=ΔSN=Q/TN

Calculate the specific heat capacity at constant pressure using the formula:

Q=NCP*dT=NCP*(T2T1)
