There are two modes of reproduction—sexual and asexual. Asexual reproduction occurs in lower organisms such as many aquatic invertebrates and some terrestrial annelids and insects. Sexual reproduction occurs in higher organisms by the fusion of two gametes produced by two different individuals.

Advantage:

Disadvantage:
