Reproduction is the process of generating new species of an individual. There are two modes of reproduction in animal kingdom, namely, asexual and sexual reproduction. Asexual mode of reproduction takes place without the fusion of gametes (eggs and sperms). Sexual reproduction takes places through the union of gametes.

Explanation

Asexual reproduction requires only one parent, which develops directly into a new individual. Thus, it is the primary advantage that offspring can be produced during asexual reproduction without the need for a partnership. Hence, genetic uniformity of offspring remains constant and uniform. It is a fast and simple mode of reproduction.

Apart from this, asexual reproduction is limited in its diversity because only one parent is involved in asexual reproduction. It makes organisms vulnerable to various infections and diseases. The other disadvantage of asexual reproduction is that it limits the evolutionary development because the same qualities of species whether it is good or poor are constantly passed to the next generation...
