The atomic mass of oxygen (O) is 15.999g/mol .

The atomic mass of hydrogen (H) is 1.008g/mol .

The molar mass of carbon dioxide (CO2) is 44.008g/mol .

The molar mass of water (H2O) is 18.015g/mol .

The molar mass of ethane (C2H6) is,

[6(1.008)+2(12.01)]g/mol=30.07g/mol

The molar mass of propane (C3H8) is,

[8(1.008)+3(12.01)]g/mol=44.09g/mol

The mass of ethane is assumed to be xg .
