Leveling of DFDs means drawing a series of detailed diagrams until the system reaches the desired level. An information system contains multiple sub -processes, so it is required to draw a series of DFDs to completely describe that information system. To level the DFDs, the analysts start with an overall view of system with a context diagram. A context diagram provides an abstract view of a system. In the next step, diagram 0 is created which provides more details at lower level and then next lower level is created with more details. In the same way, the DFDs are leveled until all the processes of the information system are identified through the DFDs.
