What atmospheric conditions are necessary for precipitation to occur?

To determine

The atmospheric conditions that are necessary for precipitation to occur.

The parcel of air that rises into the atmosphere gradually cools. When the temperature of the air parcel is equal to the surrounding air temperature, it stops rising. This air parcel is called unstable air parcel. Similarly, when the surrounding temperature is cooler than the air parcel, it sinks and rises in temperature and gradually reaches the equivalent surrounding temperature and stops. This air parcel is said to be a stable one.

When the air parcels stop rising or sinking, it condenses to form water droplets and float within clouds because they cannot overcome gravity with their tiny sizes such as 0.02 millimeters. About a million of cloud droplets form one rain drop. When the droplets of water or ice crystals become heavy to hold, they precipitate in different forms...
