Introduction: Adaptive immunity is also referred to as acquired immunity. It is characterized as the dual system consisting of humoral and cellular components. B cells are chiefly involved in humoral immunity and they neutralize threats outside the cells. T cells are chiefly involved in cellular immunity and they act on threats outside the cells.
