Summary Introduction

Introduction:

The brain codes information by the activity of neurons. Excitation of certain neurons indicates light, whereas excitations in other neurons indicate sound, touch, or other sensations. Light passes into the eye through an opening called the pupil, which is present in the center of the iris. The pupil is focused by the lens and cornea. It projects the image onto the retina, on the back of the eye in a manner of inversion. This area is lined with visual receptors.
