Question
Chapter 52, Problem 15TYK
Summary Introduction
To review:
Develop an evolutionary hypothesis for many animals, including humans and other primates, live long beyond their reproductive years. Design a study that might test it.
Introduction:
The females of some species especially primates cease reproductive years before the end of their natural lifespan is a venerable evolutionary puzzle. Natural populations of humans as well as some cetaceans and insects exhibit reproductive senescence earlier than somatic aging and females exhibit expanded post-reproductive lifespans (PRLSs).
