Concept introduction: The “habitat patch” is any distinct area with a specific shape and configuration and is used by an organism at a specific time for living, breeding or obtaining further resources.

The available resource in any habitat patch affects the local population density and the rates of emigration and immigration. Below mentioned are the three attributes of habitat:
