What air masses influence the weather of North America? Where and at what time of year are they most effective?

To determine

The air masses that influence the weather of North America   also the place and the time of year during which they are most effective.

The oceans are usually warmer than those of the land in winter months; despite the dampness and coldness of the maritime polar air masses, the oceans tend to be warmer than those of the land corresponding areas (cP air masses). The mP air mass develops in the northern Pacific Ocean, and  it travels along the westerly circulation to influence the weather conditions of the southwestern Canada and the northwestern United States. The weather of the United States may not be affected normally by the mP air mass, which is produced over the northern Atlantic Ocean since  that air mass gets pushed toward Europe by the westerlies.

The source regions of mT air mass include the Gulf of Mexico and the subtropical regions of the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans. The air mass in the mT source regions that are very warm and humid is produced  due to  long days and strong insolation  during summer. Much of the hot and humid weather during the summer  in eastern and southeastern United States may be produced by the maritime tropical air mass.

The source area of the cP air mass is in the north-central North America that experiences cold, dry, and stable conditions leading to a cold and clear weather...
