Concept explainers
The two basic types of transistor.
Explanation of Solution
The transistor are the three terminal device that are formed by three pieces of the semiconductor called the emitter, base and the collector. The electron from emitter to base and the recombination takes place. The base is used to provide interaction between the emitter and the collector by controlling the flow of the charges from the emitter to the collector.
The two types of transistor are the NPN and PNP.
The NPN transistor has the collector connected to the positive terminal and emitter to the negative terminal.
The PNP transistor has the collector connected to the negative terminal of voltage supply and emitter is connected to the positive terminal of the voltage supply.
Thus, the two type of transistor are the NPN and PNP.
