The operational amplifier are the devices that are used to amplify the signals. The op amp have two inputs and one output terminals. The output is generally the amplification of the difference of voltages at the input, therefore it is also known as the differential amplifier.

In case the voltage is connected to the inverting input is more positive than the non-inverting input then the output is negative as the output is inverted.

Thus, if the voltage that is connected to the non-inverting input, then the output is negative.
