A certain light truck can go around a flat curve having a radius of 150 m with a maximum speed of 32.0 m/s. With what maximum speed can it go around a curve having a radius of 75.0 m?

To determine

The maximum speed of the light truck.

Explanation

Given Info: The maximum speed of the truck is 32.0m/s and the radius of the flat cure is 150m, The maximum acceleration of the truck is 6.83m/s2 and the radius of the path is 75.0m.

There is a centripetal acceleration for the truck when the existence of friction between the tire and the roadway.

The formula for the maximum acceleration of the truck in the flat curved path is,

ac,max=vt,max2r

• vt,max is the maximum speed of the truck.
• r is radius of the path.

Substitute 32.0m/s for vc,max and 150m for r to find ac,max.

ac,max=(320m/s)2150m=6.83m/s2

Thus, the maximum acceleration of the truck on the curved path is 6
