Chapter 7, Problem 3DAA
Summary Introduction

To determine: How did a high-fat diet affect brown fat.

Concept introduction:

Triglycerides are a type of fat molecules. There are two types of tissues that stores the fat molecules: white fat and brown fat. White fat generates energy in the form of ATP. Brown fat generates energy as well as heat. The heat is generated due to the presence of thermogenin, a transport protein in the inner mitochondrial membrane that allows the hydrogen ions to move across it.

Additional information: ATP production by the ETC and ATP Synthase per glucose varies somewhat depending on the energy required to move NADH into the mitochondria and other energy uses for the hydrogen-ion gradient. Additional questions: 1.) How many ATP's are generally yielded by oxidative phosphorylation from the catabolism of one glucose? 2.) Summarize the total ATP's obtained from a single molecule of glucose, from start to finish?  asap
Please answer fast 1.The uncoupler 2,4-dinitrophenol was once prescribed as a weight-reducing drug. Describe the effects on oxidative phosphorylation that was useful in weight loss as well as why its use could lead to death   2. Explain how defects in the electron transport chain can lead to the accumulation of alanine in the blood. What other metabolite will increase in the blood?
Biology. Complete in 10 min please   Plasma membranes in the cells of cold-blooded animals usually have a higher proportion of unsaturated fatty acids than homeothermic animals, why?.
