Technique of evaluating vendors based on features is known as evaluation model. Evaluation model is a technique which uses key elements needed to measure vendors score and then compare vendor in order to figure out best potential vendor based on RFP (Request for Proposal) document.

In order to create weighted evaluation model, simple spreadsheet application can be used to develop matrix which contains key elements and features which needs to be assessed. Each is given some weighted factors according to the priority in business. Every organization has its own way of assessment and weight factor points which they can use according to their requirements. Features are evaluated by analysts for different vendors which is then multiplied by weighted factor and summed up to get the score of each vendor...
