Compare the humid subtropical and Mediterranean climates. What are their most obvious similarities and differences?

To determine

The comparison regarding the humid subtropical and Mediterranean climates and their most obvious similarities and differences.

Explanation

Mediterranean climate: A Mediterranean climate has the warmest month above 10°C and coldest month between 18°C and 0°C. The summer drought is as intense as the desert. The summers in inland are hot and coastal are mild. The Mediterranean climates are concentrated on the west coast location between 30° and 40°N and S latitudes. The controlling factors fluctuate between subtropical highs in summer and westerlies in winter.

Humid Subtropical climates: A humid subtropical climate has the warmest month above 10°C and coldest month between 18°C and 0°C. The summers are hot and has year-round precipitation ranging from 63 to 250 cm. It has winter drought (Asia). The Humid subtropical climates are concentrated on the East coast location between 20° and 40°N and S latitudes. The controlling factors are humid onshore (monsoonal) air movement in summer, cyclonic storms in winter.

Comparison: Both Mediterranean climate and the humid subtropical climate have hot summers and mild winters. However, the humid subtropical climate has no distinct dry season. Both the Mediterranean and humid subtropical climates receive winter moisture from cyclonic storms that travel with the westerlies along the polar front. The great difference between the two climates occurs in the summer, when the humid subtropical regions receive significant precipitation from convectional showers. Due to the latitudinal shift of the wind belts and the warm summer months, most humid subtropical climate regions experience tropical storms, among which some develop into hurricanes (or typhoons), especially in later summer...
