Explanation of Solution

Answer and explanation

The concept of caste is a permanent social status that a person is born into and cannot leave. This is passed on from generation to generation without any hope of improvement. A class is a measure of a person's social status that is based on four factors. One factor is wealth, the measure of resources currently held by an individual or group. A second factor is income, or the amount of resources coming in on a regular basis. Educational level attained is another measure of class, as is whether one owns property. Classes are not permanent, people can improve their situations. Classes are also larger than castes and not personal, but based on economic factors listed above.
