What factors limit precipitation in the subarctic regions?

To determine

The factors that limit precipitation in the subarctic regions.

Explanation

The most extreme and farthest poleward microthermal climate is the subarctic climate. It can be defined as the climate that has at least one month with an average temperature above 10oC(50oF), and its poleward limit roughly coincides with the 10oC isotherm for the warmest month of the year. The latitudinal limit of forest growth is considered as the poleward boundary of the subarctic climate due to the fact that forests cannot survive in an area where at least one month does not have an average temperature over 10oC.

Subarctic regions are characterized by short, cool summers and long, bitterly cold winters. The sudden cooling and heating associated with the continental interiors in the high latitudes causes time for the transitional seasons of spring and fall. The summer days and nights in subarctic regions are quite long and short, respectively, due to the high latitudes of these regions
