Concept Introduction:
The penetration power of a substance depends upon the size of the particle as well as its mass. Because of a relatively larger size, alpha particles have a low penetration power.
Beta particles are smaller than alpha particles. Thus, they have a higher penetration power than alpha particles.
Gamma rays, on the other hand, have very a high penetration power.
