Calculate the earliest finish time for various tasks using the backward-pass algorithm as follows: EFD i = Minimum (EFD j − Dur i j ) H e r e , EFD i = E a r l y finish date of the task in progress . EFD j = Early finish date of the ending activity Dur i j = Duration of the activities . For task 11, EFD (Early finish date) = 10 For task 1, EFD 1 = Minimum (EFD 11 − Dur 1 ) = 10 − 10 = 0 Therefore, the EFD for task 1 is 0 days. The network schedule diagram is shown below: Each entry in the above network schedule diagram has its early start date (EST), early finish date (EFD), late start date (LSD), and late finish date (LFD). The total duration of the project is EFD/LFD of the final task, i.e., a task no. 38 in the network shown above. Therefore, the duration for the completion of the project is 63 days.
