Concept introduction: Steroid hormones are the derivatives of cholestrol.  It has a messenger function.  There are two types of steroid hormones: sex hormones and adrenocorticoid hormones.  The adrenocorticoid hormones are produced by the adrenal glands.  There are two subclasses of adrenocorticoid hormones:
