The carpet in the circular entryway of the church needs to be replaced. The diameter of the circular region to be carpeted is 18 ft.

a) What length (in feet) of a metal protective strip is needed to bind the circumference of the carpet.

b) If the metal strips are sold in lengths of 6 ft, how many will be needed.

(Note: Assume that these can be bent to follow the circle and that they can be placed end to end.)

c) If cost of the metal strip is $2.59 per linear foot, find the cost of the metal strips needed.
