Summary Introduction

The ‘lymph’ is a Latin word meaning ancient Roman deity of fresh water. The term ‘-angioma’ refers to the tumor of vascular or lymphatic vessel walls. Lymph, a fluid present in the lymphatic system comprises monocytes and lymphocytes. Lymph is similar to the blood and the Lymph vessels are complex structures in a form of network that help in transportation and infiltration. Lymph is actively involved in several functions of the body. One among the important functions of lymph is that it is involved in the transportation of lymphocytes and antibodies to blood from the lymph nodes. It is also observed that lymph maintains the blood volume in the vascular system by rushing from the lymphatic system.

Explanation of Solution

Lymphangioma is an unusual, overgrown clumps of blood vessels and lymph vessels. Lymphangioma can occur in any part of the body as a result of fluid filled sac on the lymphatic system. Lymphangiomas are classified into three types, namely capillary, cavernous, and cystic based on their characteristic features and located areas.
