Concept introduction:

The second law of thermodynamics states "in all energy exchanges, if energy input or output of the system is zero, the potential energy of the state will always be less as compare to that of the initial state." This is also commonly referred to as entropy.

The disorders of any system are measured by entropy.

A negative change in entropy of the system indicates that the system is moving towards the randomness. It implies that the bonds must have broken so as to form new ones.
