Explanation of Solution

A distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack is one in which a malicious hacker catches over computers via the Internet and prompts them to flood a target site with requests for data and other trivial tasks. A distributed denial-of-service attack does not include infiltration of the targeted system. Rather, it keeps the target so involved in responding to a current of automated requests that certain users cannot get in—the Internet equivalent of dialing a telephone number frequently so that all other callers listen a busy signal. The targeted machine basically holds the line open while delivering for a reply that never comes; eventually, the requests consume all resources of the target.
