Summary Introduction

Introduction:

Ghrelin (appetite-stimulating hormone) is a peptide hormone (synthesized from amino acids), which is produced by cells of the gastrointestinal tract. Receptors for the ghrelin are present on brain cells. After binding with its receptors, it increases hunger, secretion of gastric acid and makes the body ready for an uptake of food.
