Five Criteria:
The five criteria of parts that qualify for the new program are:
- Find the extract of sales data and look for the parts provided by vendors that had already agreed to sale parts design.
- Filter out the larger customers that have purchased more parts as they would have 3D printers and expertise to use them.
- Filter out the popular products which are frequently ordered.
- Filter out the parts that are generally ordered in fewer quantities as 3-D printing is not for mass production.
- Filter out the parts that are simple in structure as they are easier to 3-D print.
The sales analysis team implemented the five criteria in the following way:
- The team requested the IS department to acquire data and the IS team extracted the operational data to produce two tables which contain information about the customer and information about the parts that need to sell.
The above diagram represents the customer table, which contain the information about the customers who have purchased in the recent years.
