Question
Chapter 9, Problem 9.95QP
Interpretation Introduction

Interpretation:

The working method of indicators in Acid–Base titration should be explained.

Concept introduction:

Acid-Base indicator

  • The Acid-Base indicators are chemical substances, which changes their color respect with pH of the solution, when it is dissolved in it.
  • The unknown concentrations of acids or bases are exactly neutralizingwith equal known concentrations of acids or bases.
  • After complete neutralizing all in the Acid–Base titration the pH of the solution is varying by Acidic or Basic.  So, in this pH the indicators make a colour change.
  • The colour change of an indicator solution is the end point of the solution.
  • To explain the working method of indicators in Acid – Base titration.
