Community service has become a tenant of my life. My biggest accomplishment, in regards to exercising both community service and engineering skills, is my light show. Each year, since 2010, I have designed, constructed, and synchronized a holiday light show at my home. In 2015, my show had around 8,500 lights, a 500 light increase from the year before. This show utilizes my entire toolbox of skills: I solder lights together, but more importantly I synchronize them to music. People drive by,
commissioned by Evergreen Hamilton to conduct research around various neighbourhoods around Hamilton. The objectives of this research was to determine how the city’s use of public art builds its communities and culture, while also proposing new ideas that would help empower and reinforce a sense of community through art. The neighbourhood our group was assigned was the North End (west) neighbourhood, which is a very family oriented neighbourhood. In addition, through the use of anthropological research
My discourse community is SESHOLLOWATERBOYZ or S.H.W.B. that is four friends Bones, Xavier Wulf, Chris Travis, and Eddy Baker, and their fans. I’m in the fans section of the discourse community, but the artists consider all real fans a part of S.H.W.B. Which is why I don’t classify my discourse community as “Fans of S.H.W.B.” Bones older brother Elliott also deserves to be mentioned, because he is the man behind the scenes and has set up tours for S.H.W.B. and is the closest thing to a manager they

In addition to race and socioeconomic status, there are issues concerning the environment and properties of communities around the parks, and gentrification is an example of one major issue in these communities. The few communities that are considered lower income but contain good parks are attacked in terms of housing pricing and community recreation. These communities are inhabited by people that have low-income, but the parks are well taken care of due to being close to landmarks or just being
Communities Filled With Unique Individuals There are many people in the world who go out of their way to make themselves more unique and more of an individual, as well as people who will do anything to just be a part of a crowd or a community. Is it possible for an individual to be strictly an individual and not a member of a community, or visa versa? Although everyone is their own person, and has their own unique personality, thoughts, and beliefs, we are all a part of a community, whether that
is not just any regular church community, but an Indian church community. A community is a group of close-knit family and friends who share a common belief, idea, or even a tradition. We all are a part of a community or communities that at least have some common ground. One of the communities that I am part of is that particular church community as a mentioned earlier. There is a quite a difference in the people in an American church and an Indian church community. Sometimes the service takes longer
How have you become involved in your community? Why have you selected these activities? Why are you interested in making T4T one of the activities to which you dedicate your time? I have been very involved in my local community through the past school year and my young life. Being selected for membership in the National Honor Society, I have been involved in many community service activities and projects with the group. I helped run a local 5k to raise money for the local food bank and childhood
Community service has been a part of my life since I was young. I grew up working on service projects with my family. I strongly believe that everyone should be involved in at least one throughout their community. When I was 10 I started helping my mom with Meals Ministry; we would make meals for over 150 people and take them to their community. We went to individual houses to see if they would like meals: some rejected, some became emotional, some asked us to pray with them and lots of hugs went
