Lust and love are total opposites. Lust is a primary ingredient of sex addiction. I find out that people are often confused about what lust is. Lust is harmful to the body, mind and spirit, and it can easily be mistaken for love, as we can see in the book of 2Samuel 13:1-4, with Amnon, son of King David, erroneously getting involved with his own sister, Tamar. Lust has the opposite effect of love. Love is spiritual while lust is Carnal; and the Holy Bible says that God is love. What really is lust
Lust is a sin. One of the seven deadly sins too. These were sins (as though not clearly stated enough by their name)that once committed meant death. But, that was back in the olden days, where if God decided you had too much sin he threw a lightning bolt at you or fed you to a big fish(not a whale). Over the years lust has evolved from something you hid, were ashamed of, that could kill you, into something promoted in everyday life. So clearly (what was I supposed to right...the vice of...haha just
love and lust go hand in hand? Certainly, life experiences will show us that it is possible to be sexually attracted to someone, but to not love that person. Yet, life experiences will also show us that we can be sexually attracted to someone and indeed love them very much. Ronald E. Riggio, Ph.D. says love distinguishes from lust, because love, “includes a desire for physical contact and intimacy, but also caring about the other’s needs as if they were your own.” (Riggio, 2014) Lust, as defined
Lust: the seven deadly sins by Simon Blackburn is part of a seven book series covering the seven deadly sins. In the book “Blackburn takes a wide ranging, historical approach, discussing lust as viewed by Aristophanes and Plato, lust in the light of the Stoic mistrust of emotion, and the Christian fear of the flesh that catapulted lust to the level of deadly sin. Many will consider lustful thoughts or actions as a sin but each society has experienced these thoughts in one way or another. Modern day life has shown that today, to carry on a conversation, there must be something intriguing about the opposite sex, whether it is some feature that they carry or simply their appearance. The cliché of “Love at first sight” should be replaced with the word “Lust”, as
What is lust? What is love? Is there a difference? It depends who you ask. Lust is infatuation, being so distracted by one person that everything else seems a blur. You forget the issues, and focus on only the positive. Love is all of it; the fighting, arguing, and the good. There are pros and cons to both. There once was a woman named June. She was married to someone named James, who she had known for many years. They lived in a very nice house in Vermont with two kids. However, she was not entirely

Definitions of these loves can be found embedded within several sonnets and will be explored further on in this essay. Other types of love could also be distinguished and analysed within Shakespeare's collection of sonnets, however,
Within the text Lust: Seven Deadly Sins written by, Simon Blackburn, which his goal is to teach his readers the meaning of lust and prove it is not just a sin, and that the meaning of lust means a lot more than what people think it’s meaning is.
