Trigger Warning by David Legore was a refreshingly honest play that genuinely surprised me in its willingness to ask difficult questions and provide controversial answers while simultaneously admitting it didn’t have them all. The play addressed prevalent modern day issues such as academic censorship, free speech, stereotyping, and racism. It promoted a message of truth in love. In today’s society, people are discouraged from giving opinions at all for fear of someone taking offense. Trigger Warning
I’ve seen many movies of all sorts, and I enjoy about any kind of movie. Out of my many favorites, Hairspray is the one I really like to watch and sing along with. Grease is another very good movie I’ve seen. Both take you on a musical journey, but Hairspray's songs are closer to stuff we sing today. Although both movies have good singers, Hairspray has some bigger singing stars whom most people have heard of. In this essay, I'll show you that even though they are both great, Hairspray is a better
In this essay I will be talking about the Top 10 movies of the 1970s. The 1970s were seen as the golden era for Hollywood, in just 10 years, we've been given a whole bunch of rewatchable classics. Almost everyone has either seen or heard about a 70s movie from The Exorcist to Grease. Movies from the 70s have survived the times; Star Wars, The Godfather, Jaws, Carrie, and Rocky, just to name a few, have either had sequels or remakes. The 70s were also known for the birth of the slasher movies including
Ready. Set. Action! There have been approximately 2,085,556,628 movies ever created. I love movies and classics like the Wizard of Oz that shaped the future for film making for years to come. Then there are those special inspirational movies found on Netflix such as Pay it Forward, that are like those important people we meet in our life that have a dramatic impact on how we live. They are each different and unique movies. Yet, there is one common thread – in some way they each describe me. The Wizard
Teen and youth based films that were produced in the eighties changed how movies in the future would be scripted, produced and how the viewers would see them. One movie in particular was The Breakfast Club, which was written and directed by John Hughes who is known to have had the largest impact on youth based movies. Hughes makes his characters in depths so we can all relate to them and their struggles they are having yet he makes his films memorable and funny so they are easy to enjoy. Easy

Although Disney’s adaptation is not completely true to the myth, the movie is still pleasing to the audience because it alters the story so that it is not only simple, but also socially acceptable. Thus, even the average six-year old can watch the movie and take away many of the desired values. Also, there is clear distinction between who is good and bad. This further simplifies the story because

Millions of people pay to watch violence every day. In today’s society, violence is often glamorized and used as entertainment. And, it is frequently the topic of young adult literature. However, violence is not always shown in a positive light. In SE Hinton’s The Outsiders, the author uses the conflicts of Ponyboy verses other characters, Dally verses society, and Johnny verses outside forces to convey the theme that violence causes more problems than it solves. Throughout the novel, the violence
The downside of fame is the interference of the media in one’s life. Stories concerning celebrities are likely to attract customers, just for entertainment purposes. Celebrities’ life is publicized, criticized and mocked at. Reporting celebrities downfall seems to be particularly appealing to the public, and it seems that hardly a day passes without the news reporting a celebrity’s’ downfall. Some people are obsessed with famous people, their life styles, and have desire for more information. Media’s
