I have typed were great because I was slowly but surely improving on my writing. One this that for sure helped me on my prompt and pieces of writing was a site called Paper Rater. Paper Rater very much helped me on these writing pieces because it helped me on my Spelling, Grammar, Word Choice, Style, and Vocabulary Words. How I approached writing my Genre Analysis: I approached my genre writing based on Writing in the Health Sciences guidelines for research papers. Since my chosen paper was a research paper, I looked for the sections in a research paper that included the abstract, introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion, and references. This helped me decide what needed to be in each section so I could elaborate on if it was included or was not. How I found my sources: I started out by going through

since all classes involve some form of reading; thus, there are many opportunities to practice. I will preview the material by observing vocabulary, headings, and illustrations. Additionally, I will practice layered reading by annotating my text or paper. I will skim a few pages at a time completing layers 1 and 2 before moving onto the next section. Once I complete layers 1 and 2 for the entire reading, I will review the entire assignment for the third layer. I am committed to this strategy since

I’ll admit, English is not my favorite subject. I don’t have a problem with writing, and at times I write for pleasure, however reading seems to bore me. When I was younger, I liked reading, but over the years, it has become something that my teachers force me to do, and it lost my interest. Maybe it could’ve been from the required reading and writing logs, but now I read because I know I have to; not for my own amusement. Throughout my Composition I class, I have demonstrated my ability to write multiple types of papers. I have developed my ideas into well-constructed essays and practiced revising my own work. Prior to this class, I considered myself a fairly advanced writer. I took an honors-level class which focused heavily on writing and grammar the year before last. This class, however, has refreshed my knowledge of proper comma usage and proper italics usage. I have been reminded that even if it seems like there
