The understanding of food influences a person’s decision regarding what they choose to eat on a daily basis. The factors that influence food decisions can be identified through perceptions of health, body image, race, class, and gender. These factors influence not only what is consumed but also where consumption takes place. For example, in taking into consideration the idea of food as body fuel or body image, a person might make choices about caloric intake as opposed to fat or carbohydrates. Class
