Richard Joseph Daley, the grandson of Irish immigrants, was born in the Bridgeport area of Chicago on May 15, 1902. He was graduated from De La Salle Institute in 1918 and worked in the stockyards for several years before studying law. While studying, he worked as a clerk in the Cook County Controller's office. His Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Friday April 25, at the Trinity Lutheran Church 213 North Pennsylvania Ave., Mason City. Services were with Senior Pastor Jim Magelssen assisted by Father Dennis Cahill officiating.
