Bartleby Write now supports analysis of essays up to 12,500 words. This means that you can get help with plagiarism, spun-text detection, grammar, punctuation, spelling, and citation analysis on essays up to 50 double-spaced pages. Long-essay analysis is handled offline, and Bartleby Write will notify you when the results are ready.
Here’s how it works:
- Type, paste, or upload your essay into the essay editor.
- Select “Analyze My Draft Now.”
- For essays over 5,000 words, Bartleby will notify you that it’s going to process your essay offline.
- Bartleby Write will then email or text you when your essay is ready.
- You can access your results from the dashboard by clicking on the “Analysis Complete” status message.
The results will be available from the dashboard until you analyze the draft again.
Submitting a Long Essay
Bartleby Write can analyze essays of up to 5,000 words in real-time. For essays of 5,000 to 12,500 words, the tool will notify you as follows when you click on the “Analyze My Draft Now” button:
Analyzing lengthy essays is now a simple task with Bartleby Write’s long-essay analysis feature.
Click the “Continue” button to submit your essay. You can also dismiss the warning message by clicking on the X if you want to return to your essay without submitting it for analysis.
Note that the word count in the upper right corner of the editor will be displayed in green for up to 5,000 words, orange for 5,000 to 12,500 words, and red for over 12,500 words. This gives you a visual indicator of if and how Bartleby will analyze your essay.
Retrieving the Analysis Results
After you submit your essay, you’ll be redirected to the dashboard where you’ll see the status of your analysis as follows:
Users can monitor the progress of analysis for their essay from the time they upload their draft.
Your essay results should be available in 30 minutes or less. Bartleby Write will send you an email or text notification (depending on your preferences) when the analysis is ready. You can also monitor the status on the dashboard.

To view your analysis results, simply click on the card to show the draft tools and then select “Edit Draft” to load the results into the editor.
Working with the Analysis Results
The analysis results are a snapshot and will remain with the document until you analyze the results again. After you’ve made edits to the essay, be sure to analyze it again to update the analysis before exiting.
