For this assignment, the agency I would like to discuss about is the Emerson Community School. This school is an elementary school where I am interning at for my field placement for the 2015-2016 school year. The Emerson Community School is a non-profit organization. This school is known as a non-profit organization because the profits/donations the school receives, it is allocated between the teachers, students, and the school, instead of the profits going to those in higher offices - like a board of directors within a profitable organization. Emerson Community School is located in the Plainfield School District, and each school district having its own “mission statement,” their mission/purpose applies to the students and their education.
After reading the above statement, did you miss any species in your gut content sampling? If so, which ones?

In a growing market faced with increasingly challenging competition, there are several areas that Q can and needs to address to bring the company to a level of social responsibility that exceeds stakeholder expectations. First, attention Q needs to address market demands for additional locations to better

According to our text, “Not-for-profit organizations lack a residual ownership claim and the organization’s purpose is something other than to provide goods and services at a profit.” “Because significant resources are provided to governments and not-for-profit organizations, financial reporting by these organizations is important.” (Page 2).

The first factor that may affect number skills development is national and community factors. A Country and community’s political, cultural, social and economic policies all contribute to the environment in which children develop. The success a country has in educating it’s children and producing a numerate population depends greatly on the country’s emphasis on the goal of numeracy for all, the resources it has available, and the mechanisms it has in place for providing effective programs and incentives that encourage number skills.
Unfortunately, this company has violated the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 due to the fact that they advised the applicant that they could not make the necessary adjustments to accommodate her needs. The American with Disabilities Act of 1990 does require that companies make necessary adjustments to accommodate the needs of qualified applicants. The key words to me are qualified applicants. They did use the words undue hardship in their response for denial but they would have to prove that modifying 2 elevators is actually a hardship to their company. Now, if they can prove that there may be no violation but the proof of burden is on them. Also, they may also say that the applicant is
Company Q’s attitude towards social responsibility appears to be nonexistent, possibly through ignorance or disconcert. Either way the lack of social responsibility affects their business and community’s perception of their business. It appears that the company management has never developed and ethics program that clearly defines the corporate culture including provisions for social responsibility. Profits, or at least a lack of losses appears to be a primary motivating factor for company Q's management’s decisions. Company Q has been attempting to cut losses by closing stores that were losing money instead of finding innovative ways to
Because Company Q is a small, local grocery store in a major metropolitan area it can at times be very over whelming. Big chain stores are putting family owned stores out of business on a constant basis. This reason, along with social responsibility taking hold of companies, brought on by consumers demanding that companies adjust their thinking from a profit-seeking standpoint to being socially and ethically understanding to all consumers in their business ventures.
Learning to me is allowing your brain to receive information and then applying in to your life experiences. I feel like face to face learning is better, however, online is more convenient. I prefer face to face because it offers a more personal relationship with your classmates and your professor. Although it is not practical for my life, I do wish I could attend classes in a regular environment. Online provides me that much needed space and opportunity to move at my own pace. Now that I have taken this class, I know that while I am receiving information I will be more aware of the information being delivered because I will now be more intentional with receiving the information.
A not for profit organization is a corporation or an association that conducts business for the benefit of the general public without shareholders and without a profit motive (Legal, 2013).” There are immense community benefits as a not-for-profit generally accepts everyone regardless of ability to pay. Nonprofit organizations are granted tax-exempt status which helps them to provide services to the public and are expected to be effective managers of their finances as well as being efficient (Financial Management, 2010).
