A brick and mortar technology manufacturing company is creating highly secure wireless devices. Demand, in recent months, has grown exponentially.  New orders received by the Sales Department create a new process instances for each new order received. A sales associate reviews each order and rejects or accepts the wireless device order. When the former occurs, the process instance is finished. However, in the latter case, the Warehouse and the Manufacturing/Engineering Department receive confirmation of the order. The Warehouse immediately processes the order and checks the required device quantity. If the quantity is available, the devices are reserved for order completion. If the quantity is not available, the devices are identified to the Manufacturing/Engineering Department as back-ordered and the customer is notified finishing this process instance. This procedure is repeated for each order. In the meantime, the Manufacturing/Engineering Department , using a just-in-time production model, produces new devices to restock the Warehouse, reduce back-orders, and ensure no more than a 10% overstock buffer is maintained. Device production is not started until one or more of these conditions occur: receipt of an order confirmation, notification of insufficient warehouse quantity. All produced devices are sent to the Warehouse finishing this process instance. If the Warehouse successfully reserved the ordered quantity, a notification is sent to the Order Fulfillment Department where the ordered device quantity is collected from the warehouse and shipped to the customer finishing this process instance.
