Question
The student used three different 250mL flasks, each with 10g of sugar added to them. In flask one 3g of yeast was added, in flask two 6g of yeast was added, and in flask three 9g of yeast was added. Each flask then received 200mL of warm water and then swirled to mix. A balloon was placed over the mouth of each flask to capture the CO2 produced.
After waiting for one hour the student measured the circumference of the balloons and found the following: Flask one had a circumference of 10cm, flask two had a circumference of 14cm, and flask three had a circumference of 22cm.
