I also agree with the text above that says that it can allow more of a friendly tone to some messages that might seem rude or not friendly at all. Something else is that I feel like if you're going to use emojis you should know your team and be able to recognize if they're comfortable enough or if it's appropriate to use them with the team around you and won't cause any misunderstanding between coworkers. If the emojis can add another tone to the message that is appropriate to what's being discussed I do not believe that there would be any harm in using them to give further context or tone to the message.
