In the article “Driving to the Funeral” the author Anna Quindlen addresses the issue of the age to begin driving. She believes that the age 16 is far too young teenagers to begin driving. Driving at a too young of an age is one big reason that the way majority of teenagers die is because of automobile accidents. There isn’t enough limitations on young drivers, causing safety concerns. Parents shouldn’t allow their children to drive at such a young age, just because they want their kids to have “freedom and responsibility”.

Young drivers should have to wait until they are 18 years old to get their license because 16 year olds are more likely to get in an accident than an older driver. One author said, “Sixteen-year-old drivers are the most likely to crash, so raising the age at which teens could get their license would save many lives…” (Rubin). Rubin gives a valid reason to why the minimum driving age should be raised from 16 to 18. If the driving age is raised, there would be less people involved in wrecks, which would help the world out as a whole. Even though 16 year olds are more accident prone than other drivers, taking 16 year olds off of the road would save the lives of everyone on the road. However, there are people who believe that the minimum driving age should not be raised because of various reasons. I feel that when you are 16 you should be able to drive. When you are 16, it is almost everyone's dream to drive. We don’t need any irresponsible accidents, but 16 is a mature age. If you take the right class; study and learn, then it you should be just fine. When you are a 16, you want to be more independent. Independence comes with responsibility. I’m sure your parents don’t want to drive you around everywhere.

The minimum driving age should not be raised or lowered. In Illinois, for example, the driving age is 16 years old. At a first glance, it seems better to wait until teens are older to begin driving. However, it is apparent that no matter what age a person starts driving, it is up to the driver to determine how safely he or she will drive. It would be pointless to raise the driving age for many reasons. The 16-year-old requirement to receive a driver's license is a standard and common rule. All but a few states use this standard. The driving age should be 16 because accidents happen to everyone, 16-year-olds should learn responsibility, 16-year-olds are not the only immature humans, and 16-year-olds have good mental development.

Busy parents, a busy young adult life, and mature teens are why the legal driving age should not be raised to the minimum age of eighteen. Sixteen is a traditional milestone in a teens life, why would one want to take that tradition away? All the opportunities sixteen year olds receive driving would be ruined if the driving age is changes to eighteen, which could also ruin a teens future. Do you think 16 is a good age to start driving? Well I disagree, I think that age 17 should be the age teenagers start driving. Here are three reasons why I think that age 17 is the perfect age for driving. For one, they would be more mature by then. Second, by then, there would be less car accidents. Most teenagers look forward to the big 16 for numerous reasons. There are lots of factors for this reason, including, more responsibilities, more independence, and one of the big ones, getting a drivers licenses. The age limits for driving have been debated on for such a long time now. The age limit for driving varies according to what country you’re living in. In my opinion, the driving age in the United States should not be raised to age 18 because I believe that age has nothing to do with responsibility, getting to and from school and curricular activities can be hard without your own transportation, and not all families have a person eligible to drive.

The current driving age of sixteen is implemented in almost every state in the United States. Most states have become accustomed to the current driving age, but recently there are certain states that believe that the legal driving age should be raised due to various reasons. The main argument for most states is that sixteen-year old’s are not mature enough and lack the preparation to handle the responsibility to drive safely. Teenagers under the age of eighteen should be required to wait longer to get their license and should be more prepared before getting their license.

Did you know that 47% of 18 year olds will have a car crash resulting in $3,000 in car damage and $15,000 in medical bills? I think 16 year olds should be able to drive in all states, I think drivers shouldn’t need to have an adult in the car, and I think that a licence should be easier to get.

Should people be driving at age 16? I think that they should and here’s the reason why. The reason that they have so many accidents is because they don’t have that much experience. The number of age doesn’t mean nothing, and all your doing is identifying the age of the driver. There are many things that people consider to reduce teen accidents.

We need to recognize that engagement takes time. Rushing youth enfranchisement would not solve political distress, but would only lower the portion of young people who vote. Some may argue that 16 year olds are allowed to get married and work, so they should be allowed to vote, but that does not mean they are responsible enough to do it. I feel that there are a lot of responsibilities when you are 16, 17, even the age of 18. I do want 16 year-olds to understand that they still have a lot to learn and not to grow up too quickly. 16 year-olds are too inexperienced as citizens and do not have the knowledge of the political views for our country. Do you think that 16 year old kids are not able to learn how to drive? Some people say that 16 year olds should not be allowed to drive because of safety concerns. They are never going to learn to overcome safety concerns at 16 and then when they are 18 there will be the same problems. Therefore kids should learn to drive at 16.

If young drivers are not able to make the decisions then there's a chance that they might hurt others or just get someone killed. One reason is 16 year old brains aren't fully developed another reason is hormones can affect driving skills. Some say it's not a good idea to raise age because children will have to get a ride from parents eventually they will need to drive themselves to events. However, if young children drive they wont know how to act during a road situation. The minimum driving age in Washington state should be raised. The government should raise the
