9-11 was one of our horrible events that happened in our history. Nearly 3,000 innocent people were killed. There are many theories\opinions about 9-11, more particularly, the terrorists. The terrorists claimed to be ‘muslims’. Some people, like me, didn’t believe them, yet some people unfortunately did. Muslims now, suffer from discrimination in America ever since the 9-11 Era. Some people believe that muslims were the reason why 9-11 and other terrorists attacks happened. The hate for American-Muslims has increased by 78%. Even our president, Donald Trump, wanted a ban on immigration by Muslims. The anti-Muslim hate and violence have reportedly increased rapidly after Donald Trump’s comments on the Muslims. Social media and the news for months
On September 11th of 2001, more than 3,000 people died during the terrorist attacks. The event changed the lives of not just the people whose loved ones died on that day, but also of those who belonged to the Islamic world. The experience of Muslims who lived in America in 2001 and those who were yet to come here would never be the same again. After 9/11, the number of hate crimes against Muslims in the United States increased and their everyday lives changed forever due to the rise of islamophobia and the vicious influence of the American media.
This week we mark the 14th anniversary of one of the worst days in American history -- the day we have come to know by two numbers: 9/11.
On September 11, 2001 at 8:45 am. a horrific event occurred. Four jets had been hijacked by an Islamic terrorist group called Al-Qaeda. They were on a suicide mission to attack the most symbolic and important united states landmarks.
An event such as 9/11 was bound to occur at some point and time, due to the United States’ strained relationship with the Middle East, with roots back to the year 1910. However, it wasn’t until the Gulf War in 1991, when tensions began to run high. The Gulf War began due to an Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein, who ordered an invasion of Kuwait. Neighbouring countries were alarmed by the news and immediately asked for Western nations to intervene, fearing Hussein would continue to feed his power hunger and advance to other Arabian countries. Finally after forty two days at war, his troops surrendered. From this moment on, the events leading up to the attack on 9/11 snowballed. This is evidenced by, “After the Gulf War ended in 1991, the United
At the point when 9/11 happened, I was an eighth grader in South Florida, and an amazingly naive nationalist. I observed with sickening apprehension as the second tower fell live on the TV in my show class. I needed activity! How set out the "scalawags" do such a marvel to my kindred Americans!
Did you know, that one person escaped the tower with seconds to spare? A man named Ron DiFrancesco was trying to escape from the South tower, after the North Tower had been attacked, when the second hijacked plane hit between floor 77 and floor 85 of the South Tower. The explosion threw him against the wall, but, however, he was able to carry on to the ground floor from floor 81 in the same time the building was standing after the attack, and then it had collapsed behind him as he was escaping from the building. The attacks on September 11, 2001 had many important effects such as a change in immigrations laws, starting wars, and changed airport rules.

On September 11, a plane crashed into The World Trade Center, demolishing both buildings. Many people were affected by this tragedy, some even were diagnosed with cancer from trying to clean up ground zero. There are speculations that the people who did have health issues were the ones not wearing the respirators, and many died because of not protecting themselves from the dangerous fumes. Some did not realize that, it could be the last day they might see their families and rushed out without saying goodbyes for the last time. There was little help provided to the sick workers. The lawyers of the workers treat them more as heros then the people who employed them to help clean up after the World Trade Center attack. There were many rising concerns given after the attack and a vast majority of people wish those concerns would be addressed.
On Thursday I asked a close family friend questions about important United States history events such as 9/11, Obama’s inauguration, Hurricane Katrina, the Recession, Pluto not being a planet anymore, and the fall of Facebook and Myspace. Many other US events were mentioned, but those five were the ones she remembered the most. Along with her opinions I also spoke or discussed my opinions about police brutality that’s currently happening and the current debates between who’s going to be the next president of the United States. We also spoke of which events were most important and impacted the US more than the other options. On that last topic we had different opinions on which were more beneficial. All of the historical events were beneficial and impacted the United States in some way and molded the actions of Americans in one way or another.
September 11, 2001 is one of the most infamous dates in American history. On this day, 19 radicalized Islamic militants hijacked four United States-based airplanes. Two of the planes were flown into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City. Thousands of first responders, occupants of the Towers and bystanders were killed or injured. The third plane flew into the Pentagon in Washington D.C. and 125 people were killed. The passengers on the fourth plane revolted and forced the hijackers to crash into a field in Stony Creek, Pennsylvania. A total of 3,000 people were killed and over 6,000 were injured that day (“9/11 Attacks” 1). After the most detrimental terrorist attack in the history of the United States, action needed to
Nearly (BE #4). every person that was old enough to comprehend what happened on September 11, 2001 remembers exactly where they were and what they were doing when they heard about the attacks. September 11, 2001 was one of the most tragic days in U.S. history and has impacted the country ever since.
During the attack of 9/11 Arijana Barun was on a plane from Zürich to Chicago. Like the other passengers on her plane she was very frightened and scared when the intercom came on and the pilot said, “The plane will be turning around due to an unexpected event in America.” She did not find out what had happened until four hours later when the plane landed in Zürich national airport. Two police officers entered her plane and said, “There have been attacks in America on the twin towers and they are no longer standing.” Entering the airport there were many T.V.’s portraying the same video, twin towers collapsing one after another. Talking to the people around them Arijana Barun and the other passengers on her plane discovered there was not only
On the morning of September 11, 2001, four airliners were hijacked by members of al-Qaeda who aimed to carry out suicide attacks against United States. Of the four planes, one struck the Pentagon, one crashed in a field in Pennsylvania, and the two remaining planes were flown into the Twin Towers in New York City, New York. Claiming almost three thousand lives, this event gave birth to a war and brought about everyday sociological changes for Americans. Is America safer post the tragic day we all refer to as 9/11? In my opinion, America is safer post 9/11 because of changes in immigration and deportations, border patrol, and airport security.
Introduction Mcdowell writes, “Scott says, ‘The building performance on 9/11 matched controlled demolition. It does not match fire-induced collapse. We have the expertise to discern this. Do we have the courage to broadcast it?’”
Law enforcement has the authority to listening in on any electronic communications with little overlooking. This means that they can get access to wiretaps, sneak and peek warrants among other provisions. The full name of the law is the "Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism Act of 2001”. So this act fights terrorism it also gives the federal government tools to deal with suspected terrorist activity. Since 9/11, all political leaders have sought new ways to address terrorism.
