“Honey, go on upstairs and get ready for bed, I don’t think Mom and Dad will mind. You’ve had a tough day. I’ll wait up for the kids.” “I’ll wait a while longer maybe the kids will come in,” Marlene said going into the pantry to get a box of tissues. “Have you called your sister?” Andrew asked as if he was feeling guilty for not telling her about things in the past. “She should know about Katherine, after all, she always liked her.” “I haven’t had a chance to call Stephanie,” Jerry said, noticing Marlene weeping again and went over to comfort her. “We’ll call her for you,” Andrew said. “There’s no need calling her,” Margaret snapped. “She probably won’t miss work to come home. We all know she only thinks of herself and no one else.” “Sweetheart, and just who taught her that?”Andrew asked and surprised Jerry since he had never heard his dad say something like that about Stephanie. Entering the house, as soon as Mark and Ashley hugged their grandparents, knowing something was wrong, Ashley asked, “Dad, what is wrong?” Hugging Margaret, she said, “Grandma, I love you.” “Something horrible happened this morning,” Jerry said, searching for the right words. “Dad, please talk to us,” Mark said as tears filled his eyes.
