Acropora are from the Subclass Zoantharia and the Order Scleractinia. They are found in upper reef slopes, where the current is very strong. Some species are also found in deep water, lagoons, and silted water. Acropora corals are the largest, most contributing coral for reef formations in the world. In the wild they are the most tolerant of water temperatures, salinity changes, water movement, and lighting, but in captivity they can prove to be very difficult to keep. In the ocean, they are the first to arrive at a reef and spread quickly.
Ardipithecus has been discovered, an Ancestor that dates back prior to the remains of Lucy. In the article written by Ann Gibbons and others, it dives into the discovery of our most ancient ancestor and the clues given to us from all 110 remains that have been found of A. ramidus. First let me begin with Lucy whose remains were found in 1974 and that dated back to 3.2 million years ago. These skeletal remains gave us the evidence needed to prove that our ancient ancestors were bipedal before evolving their big brains. After Lucy was discovered the scientist found themselves with even more questions, such as, were any previous ancestors before Lucy bipedal or did
Traveling to Tumacacori took me about twenty five minutes to half an hour to get there. The first thing that I saw at Tumacacori was the mission and the front of the church. The front of the church used to be painted with bright colors. The pediment of the church was reconstructed in 1921. The church is made up of three stories the baptistery which is on the ground floor, the robing room on the next floor and the last floor is where the bell and the arches are found. The inside of the church is called the nave which is the central part of the church. The first thing that I saw when I walked in the church was the ruins and what caught my attention a lot was that there was a cross made out of flowers in the center of the alter. This church was
Although slavery had been abolished in Abina’s region since 1874, she was still bought and treated as a slave. With the rise in demand for palm oil, which at the time was used as lubricant in factories, the need for slaves increased.

Argyria is a condition that is from persistent contact or inhalation of silver salts (Padlewska, n.d.) It is characterized by having gray or blue staining of the skin. Some signs and symptoms of the this condition are before the body turns to a grey color, it gives off a warning by the body digesting the silver through urine, sweat, and through nails and hair (Group, 2014). The disorder is diagnosed by doing a skin biopsy which takes a piece of skin and is sent to an expert who will study it and diagnose the disorder (Ngan, n.d.). While steps can be taken to reduce the effects of this, no cures exist, but it is said that taking Vitamins A, E, and C reduce the color effects. These

Ardipithecus and other early Australopithecines lived in a habitat much wetter than the environment of Aramis, Ethiopia today. The set for scene one could at times experience a “rain fall,” and should include a woodland habitat with patches of denser forest and an abundant amount of monkeys just as what would have been seen between five and three million years ago. In 1992, an expedition led by Tim White of the University of California, Berkeley discovered the fossil of Ardipithecus ramidus, dating back to 4.4 million years ago. The skeleton nicknamed “Ardi” ended up weighing around 112 pounds, stood almost four feet tall, (somewhat larger than a male chimpanzee but smaller than a female gorilla) and was most likely a female. Ardi’s ape sized brain has a cranial capacity of only 300 to 350 CC.
The count of Nouâtre, a town north of Noyers , called Radulfus had an agreement with Boso de Chillo that when the end should come for viscount Henry, that the count would give Henry’s land to Boso, as a count was known to do for vassals that pleased him. Without his knowledge though, Henry had promised the land in secret to Aimericus, a vassal of Count Matheus.
More animal species are added to the Endangered Species List that are threatened by extinction every year. Animals’ extinction is caused by human activities or natural causes. Unexpected amounts of animals are considered to be critically endangered and near extinction. Unfortunately, the Axolotl also known as the “water monster” or the “Mexican Salamander” is critically endangered and can only be found in Lake Xochimilco, south of Mexico City. Mexico is home to 373 amphibian species. It is placed fifth with the largest amount of amphibian diversity among the richest countries.
Atalanta was born to two people with unknown names had a child in ancient Greece. The father had wished for a son, but was instead given a daughter who he named Atalanta. The father was not satisfied with the situation, and in his bitter disappointment he left his young daughter on a cold mountainside to die. Rather than dying from the cold, Atalanta was instead rescued by a she-bear who nursed her to health. Atalanta lived with the bear for a rather long stretch of time, which allowed her to develop amazing physical strength coupled with exceptional hunting skills. Eventually, hunters accidentally stumbled upon Atalanta in the wild, and offered to let her live with them. The time she spent living with the hunters also helped her to develop
In 1954 ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine) was founded. It is the largest sports medicine and exercise science program in the world. The ACSM was started by people who want to change the lifestyles of others and help make them healthier; they ACSM program has over 50,000 members. Their members put their knowledge and training into helping others gain a healthier life. As students we are provided opportunities through ACSM. Some of the opportunities we are provided are, resources to extend our learning, for example you could contact a professional in the field that you wish to learn more about. ACSM also offers many employment opportunities as well as being able to attend or present your information at a Conference. Not only do ACSM offer those opportunities but they offer scholarships as well. One of the initiatives ACSM has is called, Everybody Walk, it is a
Coral reefs are the most biodiverse ecosystem on the planet. There are more than 25,000 known species of organisms and countless others that have yet to be identified (Helvarg, 2000). Reefs thrive on the shallow edge of tropical seas, most often on the eastern edge of continents along warm water currents that brush the coasts. Reefs cannot live in cold waters and are limited by ocean depth and available sunlight. Coral is the foundation of the reef community, providing a three-dimensional structure where thousands of species of vertebrates and invertebrates live and feed. Some species of coral are hard, while others soft. Some are branched, yet others are compact and rounded. Coral is made up of large
Anghiari was the first class trip that we took and still one of my favorite parts of studying abroad looking back. I was told by one of my friends that had previously done a study abroad trip to Sansepolcro that Angihari would not be a disappointment, she was right. Nestled high in the hills of Tuscany, Anghiari gave me true feeling that I was in Tuscany and was experience Italian life and culture. My favorite memory of being in Anghiari was the trip to the bakery where we made Italian bread from scratch. I was really excited for this experience because it was something that I was hoping that we would do before coming to Italy. The passion that the baker who was teaching us had for bread and the knowledge that she had about the different types
Beginning about 1850 Ma, we find acritarchs, spherical microfossils with thick and complex organic walls. They are probably dinoflagellates that spent most of their life floating in the plankton.
