1. On the 21st of October 1995, Anna Wood took an ecstasy tablet at a dance party and died three days later. At such a young and thriving age, Anna Wood was just 15 years old with a loving family, many friends and a new job. On the night of the event that had taken place a series of risk behaviours were undertaken. Firstly by wanting to take an ecstasy tablet to get high as well as not having any knowledge on the actual drug. By having a broader knowledge on the drug she may have been still alive as she would’ve only had taken half due to knowing a whole tablet would be too much.

When Annie was thirteen, the year she had: gotten a microscope, traveled with Judy Schoyer to Paw Paw and witnessed a Polyphemus moth hatch, her family moved because her grandfather had died. He had died the same day that Annie was supposed to attend a school dance at Shady Side Academy with an older boy who had invited her; Annie was ashamed for minding that she could not attend the dance. Annie recalls her grandfather’s last moments in the hospital, noting that she had never seen him angry before. His brain tumor had so debilitated his brain that eventually he could only utter the word "balls." After the death of Annie’s grandfather, Oma sold the Pittsburgh house and moved into a penthouse apartment in Shadyside along with her friend Mary.

Petitioners in this case are the State of Washington and its Attorney General. Respondents Harold Glucksberg, Abigail Halperin, Thomas A. In the article of “Assisted Suicide” by Mary Ersek, RN, PhD, she gives the reader a broad view of the terms that are used for assisted suicide and how the reader will view the topic based off of their own beliefs and responsibilities. To clarify on the topic she gives the reader terms which are, assisted suicide, active euthanasia, and withdrawing or withholding life-sustaining therapy. Assisted suicide, according to Mary, involves providing the patient with the means (usually a prescription for a lethal dose of barbiturates), knowing that the patient intends to commit suicide. Active euthanasia occurs when a person, usually a physician or nurse, performs an act (such as administering a lethal injection) to end a patient’s life. Lastly, withdrawing or withholding life-sustaining therapy (WWLST) describes discontinuing or forgoing therapies that may keep someone alive, such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), mechanical ventilation, artificially provided nutrition and hydration, and antibiotics. Moreover, the documentary film by Frontline on suicide, focus on the fact of assisted suicide and how it should be interpreted by both the law and the people. The patient is a 10 year old male who presented to the ED with multiple lacerations on his left hand. The patient denies suicidal ideations, homicidal ideations, and symptoms of psychosis. Pt is a 12 y/o African American female presented at NNBHC with dx of ADHD combine type, ODD, Disruptive Mood Dysregulation D/O, Mood D/O, PTSD and Sexual Abuse (victim/ perpetrator), who have been feeling severely depressed and SI. Pt states that she has had SI with a plan to overdose or cut her wrist. Pt is considered high risk due her unsuccessful attempt to commit suicide on 7/5/2015 by taking a handful (unknown quantity) of Clonidine. She was hospitalized at CHKD until she was medially stable, than transferred to Maryview for mental stabilization. Pt states that she is unable to contract for safety at this time, and unsure of what she may do due to her impulsivity. Pt has also have been currently distributing nude pictures to adult males via cell phone. Virginia Beach Police Department is involved with the solicition of child pornography per report from pt mother. Pt have been using explicit communication of sexual acts via text message with males and females. Since 7/5/15 there have been a change in medication Vyvanse 70mg to 30mg. Pt have a hx of becoming verbally aggressive towards hospital staff when medications change. Pt denies any psychosis or paranoid thinking.

While on patrol, i made contact with a bronze colored passenger car on George Wallace Dr, with no headlights on. I initiated a traffic stop. the vehicle pulled onto Sussex Ave. As I approached the vehicle, all the windows were rolled down and there was an overwhelming smell of green marijuana coming from the interior of the vehicle. After getting the driver information, I had the driver and the occupants step from the vehicle. All subjects were detained so I could search the vehicle. In the back seat, the was marijuana shake on the seat pad. there was no other marijuana found in the vehicle. the subjects were released and the driver was issued a warning for improper lights.

The idea and ethicality of Physician-Assisted Suicide is a rather dark and controversial subject due to the fact that someone is in need of killing themselves. Most people believe suicide to be unethical, they believe there will always be another way out, sadly suicide is an inevitable thing to occur, there will always be some person who feels the need to do it; Mary Williams states, “how is the option of a razor to the wrist or a gun in the mouth more morally palatable than a physician-administered drug”(Source A). Williams’ observation about suicide is sensible because people committing suicide are doing it with drug overdoses, guns, and razors this will never stop, so why not allow those people to choose a more dignified and humane way
